“ Blackies is definitely the best restaurant in the area. Food is fantastic and they are extremely accommodating to allergies and special requests. It's a little pricey but it's always delicious. We enjoy eating at the bar or getting takeout. My one complaint is that it's absolutely hideous inside! I would have loved to have one of my birthday dinners or even my bridal shower here but it's so ugly like lime green walls and weird black stained wood. I always wish it was a little bit of a cuter or more clean/neutral vibe because it is the best food around, I'd want to use them more for special events. ”

“ A celiac person's dream restaurant. Everything is made to order and can be made Gluten Free. The Ricotta spread and bread is amazing! Probably a dish worth driving for. I typically stick to the sandwiches. The steak and cheese was delicious. I've had the regular pizza here and I'm not thrilled with the crust, but I'm picky with my pizzas. Menu is a bit pricey, so just watch that. ”

“ Blackies is an amazing restaurant with amazing food and amazing staff!. We had a family celebration during the holiday season and rented the event room. They worked with us even though everything was last minute and complicated. Quite a few of our family have serious food allergies. The food was perfect for everyone. The room set up was perfect and staff attentive. Big thanks all around for making it a really special night for us. ”

“ Despite a little hickup, my time here with my family was delightful. Staff was friendly, courteous, welcoming. We opted for a table on the outdoor patio and I'm so happy we did! Tasteful and warm decorating, and the fall touches were especially cute. Food was stellar! The sheer variety (and quality with such a variety in mind) was impressive, but everything came across as cohesive, fresh, and modern. If you have sensitivities, allergies, intolerances, you know just how difficult it can be to go out, eat, and *enjoy* the experience. “ Ambiance. Food. Service. Music. What more could you want in a fabulous Restaurant? Location: Blackie's is one of a kind restaurant located in Smithfield, RI (about a 40 minute drive from Boston). But, well worth it if you like excellent food, a beautiful outdoor patio with firepit and games, and phenomenal service. Plus they have GF, DF, and take allergies very seriously. They also source the best clean and local ingredients to create an outstanding menu. We came here on a Saturday evening with friends who frequent this restaurant quite a bit since they live fairly close. We also came for the one a month night they call "Blackie's after dark" for dancing. Get out your dancing shoes because this place was Lit! Ambiance: I honestly did not know what to expect at first, but when we pulled up to the restaurant it was packed and knew it was going to be a great night. When we walked in I could not believe my eyes, I kept on saying how gorgeous this restaurant was. It was like a resort! Friendliness: The hostess stand had a few smiling and exciting faces waiting for guests to arrive and to seat you. They were able to move our reservations to an earlier time which was great. Plus, we were seated not too far from where the DJ would be so we could listen to some music while eating. And, secure our spot on the dance floor. Food: Everything was lovely! Our server was fantastic and super kind and offered suggestions. I had thier Sole Piccata which was delicious. The portions are big so some dishes you could split. My husband had one of their sandwiches and our friends had other dishes that also looked quite good. We also ordered the Justin Isosceles Cabernet which I had before and wanted to order a bottle for the table. Everyone loved it! Overall impressions: After eating we made our way to the fireplace and enjoyed some wine and conversations until it was time to get up and dance. We all danced our heart out until midnight. The DJ was great, playing hits from the 80s, 90s and then going into some latin music. We had the best time and we know we will be back soon. Not sure why this restaurant had some 3 star reviews but our experience was worth 5 stars or more. A definite place to check out for sure! See you on the dance floor! ”
